Secretary Cate notes start of National Crime Victims Rights Week

Secretary Matthew Cate opened an information fair Monday in the headquarters atrium to start the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week observances by the Office of Victim and Survivor Rights and Services (OVSRS).

OVSRS, along with other State agencies, community victim service organizations and the California Correctional Peace Officers Association participated in the information fair.

OVSRS staff was available to answer questions and provide information about CDCR victim services, including information about the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system for victims, victims’ next of kin, and witnesses to register to receive notification about the release, death, escape, parole hearings or scheduled execution of an inmate.
