Wave 2 Layoffs Button

As the Wave 2 Layoffs approach, CDCR employees should be checking the Layoff Resources page more frequently.
Starting next week, Non-Peace Officer employees who could be affected by the layoffs will begin receiving Voluntary Transfer worksheets. The Voluntary Transfer process gives employees the opportunity to improve their chances of retaining employment with the Department by transferring to locations where positions are available.
A video providing an overview of the Voluntary Transfer process is among those available by clicking the Video Resources button on the Layoff Resources page.
The Office of Resource Planning soon will post a listing of Reductions and Vacancies – along with seniority scores – to help Non-Peace Officer employees decide if, or where, a transfer should be sought.
Keep in mind that if you are awarded a voluntary transfer, that transfer is binding and irrevocable. You will be expected to report for work at your new location on August 23.
Next week, impacted employees – both Peace Officer and Non-Peace Officer – will begin receiving State Restriction of Appointment (SROA) letters.  SROA/Surplus status for employees receiving the letters will be effective July 2.
The Layoff Resources page contains links that impacted employees may find helpful, including ones to the State’s SROA Manual; the Department of Personnel Administration Layoff Manual; the State Personnel Board’s website and its state job search site; and CDCR’s Office of Employee Wellness.
The Office of Employee Wellness website offers a number of resources to those feeling stressed about the possibility of layoff or transfer.
