The Ironwood State Prison’s Employees Association recently awarded 15 scholarships totaling $7,500 at the Palo Verde High School Scholarship Awards Ceremony.

Warden David B. Long, accompanied by members of the ISP Employees Association and Blythe Mayor Oscar Galvan, presented the scholarships to the recipients in front of approximately 200 business owners, school faculty, community leaders, parents, family and friends of the scholarship winners.

“It is wonderful to be able to award these scholarships to such deserving students in our community,” Warden Long said. “I am grateful to our employees’ association for its hard work and sacrifice, as well as the many sponsors in our community. It is a great feeling to be able to invest in the future of our young people and future leaders.”

The association thanked the following local businesses and individuals whose sponsorships made the scholarship awards possible:
