California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison (CSATF/SP) at Corcoran recently partnered with the community of Kettleman City in “Let’s Get Moving” shoe collection drive.

Lets Get Moving shoe drive collects new or gently used tennis shoes and distributes them to boys and girls ages 5-17 prior to the start of the school year. CSATF/SP placed tags, with various shoe sizes, throughout the institution. The employees picked a tag with a designated shoe size and donated the tennis shoes.

The distribution of the shoes took place at the KettlemanCityFamilyResourceCenter.  Present to support the event was California Assembly Member Rudy Salas.

“The event was a success”, said Florence Cote, Community Partnership Manager, “CSATF/SP staff always step up to the plate to help a child in need.”
