North Kern State Prison (NKSP) at Delano recently partnered with the Delano Community Connection in a Coat drive, “Operation Keep our Children Warm,” which targeted K–8th graders. NKSP staff donated 325 new and slightly used warm winter coats.

Community Connection Coordinator Linda Hinojosa said, “The coat drive is spot on time. Many of the children of Delano walk to school due to parents working in agriculture. With school bus services minimized these coats will provide much needed warmth during cold and flu season.”
