SCC staff raises money for Sonora Hospice, Vietnam veterans

Sierra Conservation Center

Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) staff, with some assistance from local businesses, this month raised $4,283 for the Sonora Hospice and the local Vietnam Veterans, Chapter 391.

Divisions/Departments of SCC donated a holiday gift basket and staff members bought tickets in hopes of winning one of the items.

Among the basket items were an iPad, a 32-inch flat screen television, a Kindle Fire with a $100 Amazon gift card, and a patio heater.

SCC thanks the following local merchants who assisted SCC with their fundraising efforts by donating items:

– Black Oak Casino

– Heel to Toe

– On Main Salon

– Creative Learning

– It’s Yo Good Yogurt

– Let’er Buck

– Lady Couture

– Dodge Ridge Corporation

– Be Dazzled

– Diamondback Restaurant

– Peppery Gar & Brill.

Also, Warden Heidi Lackner presented a check for $853 to the Sonora Cancer Support.  The money was raised during a holiday bake sale put on by SCC staff volunteers.

Sonora Cancer Support assists cancer patients in various ways during treatments.
