CTF shows dramatic increase in education programming

The Correctional Training Facility (CTF) in Soledad recorded a large increase from last year in its educational utilization, or the actual number of programming hours inmates participated in versus the available hours.

Overall, at CTF, Career Technical Education programming increased from 51 percent of available hours to 90 percent – a 39 percentage point increase – for the period November 2012 to October 2013.

Academic utilization, already at 86 percent at CTF, increased by 7 percentage points to 93 percent over the same time period.
