California Correction Center

California Correctional Center (CCC) Chief Deputy Warden Matt Mullin presented Melissa Downing, Executive Director, Lassen Family Services, Inc, last week with a donation of 600 cellphones.

Cellular phones have become a popular and dangerous contraband item among the inmate population.  The donated contraband cellphones were confiscated from inmates at CCC, as well as from inmates located in the 18 Northern California Fire Camps.

Anyone wishing to donate cellphones may contact Lassen Family Services at lassenfamilyservices.org or by calling (530) 257-5459.

Of the 600 cellphones donated by CCC to Lassen Family Services, 230 are new.  These cellphones will be used to provide victims of abuse with a way to contact 911 in an emergency.

The remaining 370 used cellphones will be used to provide funds for victim services.
