CSP-Solano fund-raiser aids youth charities

The Prisoner’s Outreach Program at California State Prison, Solano, conducted a food sale fund-raiser and donated 100 percent of the proceeds to three nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping children.  Each organization received a check for $7,109. 96 on March 13.

The organizations receiving donations were: New Day for Children, which rescues and provides for the housing, educational, therapeutic and faith needs of girls ages 10 to 18 who have been victimized by human trafficking; Healthy Kids Solano, a locally developed health insurance program created to provide coverage to children who do not qualify for state-sponsored programs; and the Sheriff’s Community Impact Program, whose mission is to foster productive citizens by engaging youth in dynamic community programs designed to reduce gang involvement and violence in Sacramento County.

    $7,109? Seriously or is this a typo? That would be a food sale of over $21,000!!

      Yes, the total amount raised was $21,329.88!
