OUTSTANDING JOB! Honor Guard of Central California Women’s Facility & Calipatria State Prison. Big thanks goes out to ya’ll and all the other CDCR Honor Guard Teams in this Great Nation. I commend ya’ll for being part of the “Unsung Heroes” of CDCR and for which it stands for. What our communities are not aware of about “OUR HG” is that ya’ll are volunteers and are not forced to join this Team. Additionally, ya’ll join the Team not for any “special benefits/promotions, “extra money” or “brownie points”. In reality, ya’ll invest a lot of your own personal time/vacation days and money for the Special Cause of and for our Diverse and wonderful CDCR Family. I can relate and speak from personal experiences since I too, am part of the Pelican Bay Honor Guard Team/Family. “Life is short so smile everyday.”

Thanks to the honor guard teams for representing the department so well. I’m so happy for the positive public exposure.

This detail was an honor and a privilege to represent the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and specifically our institutions Central California Women’s Facility and Calipatria State Prison. We enjoyed representing our institution CCWF with such a great combined Honor Guard invite from CAL. The CAL Honor Guard were hospitable and so professional. We would like to thank them for the invite and opportunity, and also CCWF Administration for the support and the chance to represent our Department in such a positive way. Anaheim Ducks staff were also very hospitable and welcoming.

CDCR staff volunteering to present the Colors in front of a sold out crowd is positive CDCR public exposure and recruitment for the department. I worked with some of the staff in the picture and the photographer. Their volunteerism, dedication to CDCR and the profession is exemplary.

I’m very appreciative of the partnership between CAL and CCWF. As the Warden of CCWF, I am very proud of Sgt Williams and Officer Mora, who clearly represented CCWF in a very positive light as well as the Correctional staff from CAL. CCWF looks forward to partnering with CAL in the future.
