Polar Bear Plunge

CCC Thaw Abiding Citizens, HDSP / SAAC Ice Breakers, and athletes from the Lassen College Special Athletes and Activities Club

Teams from High Desert State Prison (HDSP) and the California Correctional Center (CCC) along with athletes from the Lassen College Special Athletes and Activities Club (SAAC) recently participated in the South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics.

The HDSP/SAAC Ice breakers team raised a total of $7,986.00 and received an award for the most donations raised by a Law Enforcement Team for this event.

The CCC Thaw Abiding Citizens raised a total of $5,745.00 and received an award for the best costumes.

Together both teams raised a total of $13,731.00 in the Lassen County area for Special Olympics of Northern California.  Fundraising events leading up to the Polar Plunge included a Fun run organized by the CCC Thaw Abiding Citizens and a Bake Sale organized by the HDSP / SAAC Ice Breakers.
