Jack Carlson

The California Medical Facility (CMF) reported the passing of retired Correctional Captain Jack Carlson away on April 19.

He began his CDCR career at San Quentin State Prison (SQSP) as a Correctional Officer and promoted to Sergeant in 1974.

In February of 1977, he transferred to CMF, where he promoted to Lieutenant in 1981.

During his career at CMF, he worked as a Correctional Counselor II Supervisor, Facility Captain and retired as a Correctional Captain in 2001.

After his retirement, he worked as a Retired Annuitant at Headquarters until December of 2005.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.

A reception will follow at the Dixon Veterans Hall, 1305 N. 1st Street, Dixon.

    I first worked with then Lt Carlson in 1986 on S-2 at CMF before it was DMH. He was always a good person to work with.
