CRC appoints new Captain, Warden Tampkins says

Warden Cynthia Y. Tampkins of the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) has announced the appointment of Travis Pennington to Captain.

Capt. Pennington started his CDCR career as a Correctional Officer at Ironwood State Prison in 1996. In 2001, he promoted to Correctional Sergeant at the California Institution for Men (CIM). He was assigned to the Watch Office, Facilities and several other areas.

In 2004, he promoted to Correctional Counselor I. In 2008, he promoted to Correctional Counselor II Supervisor. He was assigned to the Administrative Segregation Unit.

In 2012, he transferred to CRC. He has been acting Captain since April 2014.

“His diverse experience has been beneficial to the institution,” Warden Tampkins said.
