On Friday, September 5, Avenal State Prison Honor Guard presented its colors for retired Correctional Officer Charles Bryson who passed away on August 29.

Officer Bryson began his career with the California Department of Corrections on February 23, 1987, at the Correctional Training Center in Galt and retired from Avenal State Prison on June 1, 1996.

The Bryson family sent their appreciation to Avenal State Prison for their commemoration and presenting the U.S. Flag.

    I have known the Bryson family for 23 years now. Mr. and Mrs. Bryson are my children’s grandparents. I am sorry for the family’s loss. He will be truly missed. My family sends Mrs. Bryson as well as the Bryson family our deepest sympathy.
