In July, firefighters at Pine Grove Youth Conservation Camp participated in a fundraising event led by Youth Correctional Counselor Deborah Brady.

They managed to raise $920 to donate to Operation Care.

The charity was presented with a check on Aug. 25.

The recipients were very grateful, saying the donation would help to provide families with a safe harbor and keep them out of harm’s way.

It will also assist them in being able to keep their crisis hotline available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The gesture made the guys feel good about themselves for helping out the local community.

Operation Care is a Non-Profit Organization specializing in the following services: Domestic Violence Support Services and Advocacy, Rape Counseling, Support Services and Advocacy, Amador County Safe House for Battered Women and Children, Safe Harbor for Battered Men and a 24-hour Crisis Line.
