Honor, remember veterans through InsideCDCR

Do you have a favorite veterans story or recollection? Perhaps it is about a co-worker, relative or friend and their time serving in our armed forces.

Or maybe, it’s your own personal story about your service in the military.

Whatever the case may be, InsideCDCR would like to help honor and recognize veterans but we need your help. Submit your story, anecdote or recollection by email to don.chaddock@cdcr.ca.gov for consideration.

Include: Name, branch of service, years of service and tell your story in 200 words or less.

We will publish as many as we are able.

If you have questions, email Don Chaddock, InsideCDCR editor, at don.chaddock@cdcr.ca.gov or call (916) 324-4583.

I served eight years in the Army and experienced many great things. I visited the countries of Korea, Ecuador, Panama, Japan, Spain, Germany, and served on the front lines during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. I will always love my fellow veteran brothers and sisters.

I served in the Army National Guard for 13 years, deployed three times, made some unforgettable friendships and lost some good people along the way. Life was hard at times and even depressing, but if I could do it all over again, I would do it all the same.
