Chuckawalla Valley State Prison

The Chicano Correctional Workers Association (CCWA) has a motto, “Somos Familia” (We Are Family). In keeping with this theme, Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP) and Ironwood State Prison (ISP) chapters celebrated a Thanksgiving tradition by giving back to their local community.

This year CCWA donated Thanksgiving meals to 10 local families. The families enjoyed a complete turkey dinner. The recipients were selected by the staff at Riverside County Mental Health and Substance Use Clinic in Blythe.

“On behalf of CCWA, CVSP and ISP, we wish these families a happy and blessed Thanksgiving,” an organization representative said.
