California Gang Task Force (CGTF) recently held a fundraiser in support of the families of three slain deputies in Sacramento, Placer and Ventura counties as well as a slain police officer from Pomona Police Department.

In one day, California lost four peace officers.

  • On Oct. 28, 2014, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Davis, Jr., were fatally shot in the line of duty.
  • On Oct. 28, 2014, Pomona Police Department’s Officer Shaun Richard Diamond was shot in the line of duty. He passed away Oct. 29.
  • On Oct. 28, 2014, Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Eugene Kostiuchenko was completing a traffic stop when he was struck by a car and killed in the line of duty. The driver fled but was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and other charges.

During the week of the CGTF’s seventh annual National Training Symposium in early November, attendees participated in a fundraiser which raised $6,000 for the fallen officers’ families.

CGTF is a non-profit organization which holds monthly meetings throughout the state of California and comprises peace officers representing law enforcement agencies throughout the western U.S.
