Kern Valley State Prison (KVSP) once again adopted Cesar Chavez Preschool in Delano for the holidays.

The school is organized by the Mexican-American Opportunity Foundation. There are 159 children enrolled in the preschool offering three programs which provide child care and education to migrant workers and their children.

The 2014 Adopt-a-School Christmas Program included gifts distributed by Santa Claus and one of his Elf helpers.  In mid-December, 159 students received a wrapped gift made possible by donations from KVSP staff.

“The generosity and dedication of the Kern Valley State Prison employees once again has given back to the community. What an awe inspiring time watching the children as they received their gifts and celebrated with songs, dancing and performances,” said Warden Martin Biter.
