Governor appoints new warden at California Health Care Facility, Stockton

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. has appointed Brian Duffy as warden at California Health Care Facility, Stockton.

Warden Duffy, 55, of Sacramento, has served as acting warden since 2014. He served in several positions at the California Medical Facility, Vacaville, from 2011 to 2014, including warden and chief deputy administrator.

He was a correctional administrator at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Office of the Secretary, from 2009 to 2011 and a correctional captain in the Division of Adult Institutions from 2008 to 2009.

He served in several positions at the California Medical Facility, Vacaville, from 1994 to 2008, including acting facility captain, correctional captain, correctional health services administrator, lieutenant, sergeant and officer.

He was a correctional officer at North Kern State Prison from 1993 to 1994 and at San Quentin State Prison in 1993. Duffy was a consultant at Duffy and Duffy from 1988 to 1992.

The position does not require Senate confirmation.
