Lemoore High School senior exit interviews get boost from CDCR

By Lt. Tom Mattson, AA/Public Information Officer
North Kern State Prison

Staff from North Kern State Prison recently had the privilege of participating as panelists in the Lemoore High School (LHS) senior exit interviews in Lemoore.  The interviews are an LHS graduation requirement.

The exercise is meant to assure students are ready for the world beyond high school after they graduate. The process focuses on four main areas: the interview; the senior’s high school record (academic, attendance and citizenship); the senior’s preparation for their short-term and long-term goals; and an appropriate portfolio documenting all these areas.

The interview panel scores the students on their interview technique and on the students’ preparation for their stated goals. The students worked extremely hard and were proud of their senior portfolios, which was evident in their presentations, according to those involved.
