To observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the staff at Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP) put their culinary skills to work.

On Friday, April 10, SVSP’s first Nachos and Bake Sale, organized by Executive Assistants Irene Gutierrez and Lisette DeAnda, raised $2,000 in sales and donations.

The money was collected for the Monterey County District Attorney Victims of Crime Unit.

The donation was presented to the Monterey Victim Witness Assistance Program Manager Pamela J. Patterson by Chief Deputy Warden (A)  Shaun Hatton during the Victim Dedication Ceremony on Friday, April 17.

The presentation took place in the Board of Supervisors Chambers of the Salinas Courthouse.
