Governor appoints warden at California State Prison, Corcoran

Warden David Davey

David Davey, 51, of Bakersfield, has been appointed warden at California State Prison, Corcoran, where he has served as acting warden since 2014.

Warden Davey was chief deputy warden at Kern Valley State Prison from 2012 to 2014 and served in several positions at High Desert State Prison from 1995 to 2012, including correctional administrator, captain, lieutenant and sergeant.

He was a correctional officer at Pelican Bay State Prison from 1990 to 1995, at Folsom State Prison from 1988 to 1990 and at Mule Creek State Prison in 1987.

This position does not require Senate confirmation.
