California Correctional Institution Honor Guard opens playoff game

The Honor Guard from California Correctional Institution was requested by Tehachapi High School to present the United States and California flags before the Nov. 20 CIF Football playoff game on under the lights of Coy Burnet Stadium in Tehachapi.

The request was in honor and memorial of the lives lost in the terrorist attacks within Paris.

CCI Honor Guard presented the flags at the center of the field to the THS marching band playing the National Anthem.

Members of the CCI Honor Guard are Correctional Lt. Rolando Gonzales, Correctional Sgt. Julio Hurtado, Correctional Officer Rachel Medovitch and Correctional Officer Dave Watson, Jr.

Employees at CCI work to continually build a relationship with the community of Tehachapi and the students and faculty of the high school.
