California State Prison, Solano, (SOL) is partnering with Lions In Sight of California and Nevada (LIS) to help make the world a brighter place for children and adults in need of eyeglasses.  LIS is a nonprofit charitable organization and an endorsed project by Lions Clubs International bringing eyeglasses to a world of people in need.

The mission of LIS is to promote the collection of used eyeglasses for the purpose of recycling and use in developing nations worldwide and to provide no cost primary eye care to the needy and low-income citizens in economically disadvantaged countries.

SOL staff, inmates and volunteers donated 233 pairs of eyeglasses since November 2015.
