California State Prison, Corcoran, (CSP-COR) recently recognized Suzee Garcia, case records technician, for being honored by the CDCR Office of Victim and Survivor Rights and Services (OVSRS).
One of the many functions of the prison’s record department includes maintaining the process of inmates attending parole consideration hearings with the Board of Parole Hearings (BPH). Part of this process requires records staff to communicate with the crime victims of the inmates housed at CSP-COR as well as the victims’ participation in the board hearings.
OVSRS honored her for her dedication and exemplary work with the crime victims. Garcia is diligent in her assignment as BPH case records technician, keeping in contact with victims for scheduled parole hearings as well as attending parole hearings as the CSP-COR’s victim services representative providing emotional support to the families.
Her efforts in assisting crime victims extends past the scope of her assignment as the BPH case records technician is evident in her efforts to raise funds here at the Institution for the CASA Organization of Kings County during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Suzee for her efforts both within and outside of the institution,” said Warden Dave Davey.
