Fernando ‘Andy’ Fonseca

Avenal State Prison (ASP) reported the passing of retired Supervising Cook Fernando “Andy” Fonseca on April 29, 2016.

He started his CDCR career at ASP until he transferred to Folsom State Prison as a Supervisor Cook. In January 2014, he medically retired.

    Fonseca, Rest In Paradise. I’ll forvever cherish the times he showed me the ropes when I was a brand new cook at FSP. His humor to everything within a prison setting made a huge positive impact, not only at work, but in my life as well. I am greatful to have met you brother. My condolonces to Mrs. Fonseca and family.

    My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I enjoyed working with Mr. Fonseca while we both were at Folsom.

    Wonderful person, great staff and loving husband and parent. And to top it off, retired military. Fonseca, you will be missed. We are all grieving at this moment.
