Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) Warden Scott Frauenheim and Avenal State Prison (ASP) Warden Rosemary Ndoh recently joined forces with Coalinga Police Department to ensure public saftey at Olsen Park for the Coalinga Horned Toad Derby.

The Crisis Response Team (CRT) from ASP/PVSP teamed up with local law enforcement to keep the peace at one of the biggest events in Coalinga.

This event has been around since 1937 and always has a huge turnout.

Every Memorial Weekend this four-day event includes carnival rides, softball, food, live entertainment, parade, and the live horned toad races.

The CRT helped ensure gang members did not disrupt any of the festivities and provided an extra show of force.

Sgt. Young from the Coalinga Police Department coordinated the event with great success and expressed his gratitude to the Wardens and the CRT team.

Sgt. Young invited the team out for the following year and looks forward to working with the CRT team in future mutual aids situations.
