Day after certification, CDCR K-9 officer takes third in 18-agency competition

K-9 Officer Adrian Loera and his four-legged partner, Echo.

Correctional Officer Adrian Loera graduated the Peace Officer Standard Training academy and became a Certified K-9 Trainer on May 19. Also, K-9 Echo passed her yearly certification.

One day later, Officer Loera competed in his first K-9 trial and took third place out of 18 law enforcement agencies in the Contra Costa Sheriff’s 8th Annual S.E.R.T. Challenge.

    Great work to both of you. As a retired Corrections Officer from SVSP and CIM, I always knew we should have K-9 teams at every prison. Good to hear they are now working and doing great. Keep up the great work.
