Seven Deuel Vocational Institution (DVI) correctional officers joined the Tracy Police Department to raise funds for Special Olympics of Northern California.

Employees from Deuel Vocational Institution and Tracy Police Department teamed up Oct. 22 to serve as wait staff at the local Red Robin Restaurant, raising $3,615.

DVI staff waited tables and served food alongside fellow law enforcement officials from Tracy Police Department.

They served dinner and drinks, bused tables and cleaned.

Two local Special Olympians attended the event to talk to patrons about their yearlong training.
