Staff at Kern Valley State Prison recently worked with inmates on Facility C to raise $3,473.94 dollars for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Tulare County.

CASA is a local non-profit organization started in 1984 with a collective goal of supporting abused and neglected children who may otherwise be overlooked.

Sgt. Robert Rodriguez and staff worked with the Inmate Advisory Council on Facility C to organize an inmate photo sale. The premise of the fundraiser was to allow inmates on Facility C to have their pictures taken in front of a mural which had been painted by inmates in the facility gymnasium.

During the three-day fundraiser, the Music Appreciation Group Band played for the fundraiser participants. This event would not have been a success without the hard work and dedication of all involved.
