The Salvation Army bell ringers had a little extra help this year thanks to staff at California Correctional Center (CCC) and other law enforcement agencies.

On Dec. 20, CCC staff, Susanville Police Department, Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol participated in a friendly competition.

Each agency set up a Salvation Army red kettle at a local business and showed their Christmas spirit.

Multiple CCC employees participated by assuming shifts throughout the day.  The event was a huge success with the Salvation Army’s local office reporting above average donations for the day.

Looks like the pictured team got a jump on the competition since they started a Penny ahead. Good job, Tracey!
