Did you know that CDCR has a surplus warehouse?
The CDCR Surplus Warehouse is run by Office of Business Services staff, which stocks desirable furniture that is often utilized by CDCR facilities, programs, institutions and offices. If CDCR programs are in need and aware of the surplus furniture available, it can result in a reduction of purchasing cost and environmental impact through the reutilization of existing furniture.
There is no cost to CDCR programs for surplus furniture; however the requesting program is responsible for the logistics and transportation cost of items.
One of example of the benefit to CDCR is the recent opening of the Custody-to-Community Transitional Reentry Program (CCTRP) Facility in Stockton.
When opening a new facility, there are a considerable amount of items needed to conduct daily operations. The CCTRP and its participants wanted to improve the library by getting more books. To help build CCTRP’s library, CALPIA held a book drive. The staff donated a variety of books, making the book drive very successful. To store the books, CALPIA contacted the CDCR Surplus Warehouse for book shelves; as a result three book shelves were transferred to CCTRP.
All visits, deliveries or pick-ups for the warehouse are by appointment only and are scheduled via email at email@example.com . When contacting the CDCR Surplus Warehouse Normal warehouse please provide the details of your request and contact information in your email and a warehouse representative will contact you within two business days.
