Dr. Gideon was our friend and doctor. We knew Larry for many years. Larry was compassionate, generous, intelligent and caring. I doubt the English language has enough words for his merits or the loss we all feel. Rest in peace.

As everyone was, I too was in shock to hear of Dr. Gideon’s passing and my heart goes out to his family. I always enjoyed seeing him come into CCC with his Canadian jacket on and we would chat about family there. What a gentleman, kind and professional. I was truly glad when he started helping us out “down the hill” from HDSP and looked forward to chatting with him. So many will miss him. Knowing how he touched us, I can only imagine how he touched the lives of his family… my sincere sympathy.

I was in total shock when I heard of one of the best people I have ever known had passed away. Dr. Gideon was not just a doctor to me and my family but a true friend who I would often confide in. He was a person who God put in our lives to make us feel and to understand what true compassion really feels like. He would always ask my sons during our office visits how school was going and listen to their questions as well as mine. He went up and beyond of just being a doctor, he truly cared about everyone. He would often tell me how his daughter and son were doing in college, and even though I do not know them I know they will be successful in life because of their Father. My prayers and thoughts are with the family members and may Larry rest in peace. It is with great sadness to hear of our dear Dr. Gideon. You have saw my family through many a many of illnesses. Over 28 years you have treated us, befriended us, mentored us. He waa not only my family doctor but my parents and my father in law. 3 generations lost a great doctor when he decided to leave and go help others that were unfortunate. I could see him doing that. Erin and Cj know that your father was one in a million and will be deeply missed.

We were very saddened to hear of Dr. Gideon’s passing. Not only was he a wonderful, caring Doctor to our family for 21+ years, but a treasured friend as well. He was so compassionate and would always, always take the time to sit and listen. He was “old school” and we had the utmost respect for him. What a patient man with a heart of gold. And funny! He was so funny! There was always something to laugh about, which is one of the memories I will always have of him. He was the true meaning of “laughter is the best medicine”. He was one of a kind and we wished he would have never left Memphis. He cannot be replaced, and he always spoke so highly of his children too and of what they were doing, their accomplishments and was so proud of them. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

I just heard about Dr. Gideon. Closest I’ve ever come to fainting. He meant so much as my doctor and my late husband’s doctor. Broke my heart. RIP. Maybe a memorial here in Michigan?

Our family was in total shock when learning of Dr. Gideon’s passing. He was one of a kind. Not only was he our family doctor for over 28 years, he became a part of the family. He was my boss for almost 8 years, and asked once what kind of a boss he was, I quickly told him he was the best boss I ever had. Loved his sense of humor, he was always teasing me at work & I teased him right back. He gave me advice whenever I needed it and I let him know that I valued his opinion. Often saw the generosity to his patients, in his time and his money. There is no way to convey all the good he did while practicing in Memphis. Praying for the family for strength to get through this difficult time. Will keep Erin, C.J. and the rest of his family in my daily prayers. He truly was one of a kind.

We will always have Dr.Gideon in our hearts. He was a good Dr, and friend to us for 28 years. We really missed our long talks with him. We wish he never had left Memphis. It felt like we lost part of our family when he left and now we miss part of our family again. We talked to him on Sunday,March 26 and he said everything was good. He was very proud of CJ and Erin. You could see the happiness in his face and voice when he talked about them. Wish we could find out what he died from. It might give us some closesure. We tried to contact CJ on his Dad’s phone but was unable to talk to him. We wish our deepest sympathy to his family. Gary &Mary Lou Woock

I’m in total shock about the passing of my uncle Larry, he was a honest, hard -working man and a very dedicated father. He would do anything for his two children Erin and C.J he was very proud of both of them, and talked about them all the time. He will be sadly missed by everyone and especially by his brother Sam and his 4 sister’s Janet, Phyllis, Joyce and Rita. The nephew and nieces will always remember Uncle Larry and his unique sense of humour, but also his steadfast dedication to his career and his patients .
C.J and Erin will have great support from all of us, rest assured.
May you rest in peace Uncle Larry , God bless you, you were a true gift to this world , and really made it a better place. You will be sadly missed !!

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Gideon’s passing. Not only was he my physician for 21 years he became a treasured friend as well. A true humanitarian, kind & gentle. I know he had a dedicated love for his daughter, son & sisters. He was extremely proud of his children..& He would often speak fondly of his Italian brother in law as well. Being Italian myself we had many great conversations about food. Wish he would never have left Memphis, MI …
