Terri Gonzalez, 55, of Templeton has been appointed associate director of general population male offenders at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, where she has served as acting associate director since 2011. Gonzalez has served in several positions at CDCR since 1988, including warden, chief deputy administrator, correctional administrator, correctional captain, correctional lieutenant, correctional sergeant and correctional officer. Jay Virbel, 46, of Sacramento has been appointed associate director of female offender programs, services and special housing at CDCR, where he has served as acting associate director since 2012. Virbel has served in several positions at CDCR since 1993, including chief deputy of program operations and chief of investigations at the Board of Parole Hearings and senior special agent and special agent in the Office of Internal Affairs. He also served as assistant deputy director, correctional lieutenant, sergeant and officer for the Division of Adult Institutions. This position requires Senate confirmation.

Erin Brock, 49, of Modesto has been appointed superintendent at the N.A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility, where she has served as acting superintendent since 2011. Brock has served in several positions at CDCR since 1986, including assistant superintendent, program administrator, treatment team supervisor, parole agent and youth correctional counselor. Kevin Chappell, 48, of Elk Grove has been appointed warden at San Quentin State Prison, where he has served as acting warden since 2012. Deborah K. Johnson, 50, of Stockton has been appointed as warden at the Central California Women’s Facility, where she has served as acting warden since 2011. Johnson has served in numerous positions at CDCR since 1986, including chief deputy warden, associate warden, classification and parole representative, assistant classification and parole representative, correctional counselor, correctional sergeant, correctional sergeant instructor and correctional officer. David Long, 47, of Blythe has been appointed warden at Ironwood State Prison, where he has served as acting warden since 2011. Long has served in numerous positions at CDCR since 1989, including chief deputy warden, associate warden, facility captain, correctional counselor, correctional lieutenant, correctional sergeant and correctional officer. Cynthia Tampkins, 50, of Rialto has been appointed warden at the California Rehabilitation Center, Norco, where she has served as acting warden since 2011. Tampkins has served in multiple positions at CDCR from 1986 to 2011, including chief deputy warden, correctional administrator, correctional counselor III, classification and parole representative, correctional counselor, correctional lieutenant, correctional sergeant and correctional officer.
