San Francisco 49ers tight end Delanie Walker is helping raise funds with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) after his uncle and aunt – CDCR Correctional Officer Bryan Young and his wife Alice Young – were killed by an alleged drunken driver.

Officer Young, who worked at the California Institution for Men, and his wife were killed Feb. 3 while returning home from the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

A suspect was arrested.

“The Super Bowl – I forgot all about it,” Walker told the San Francisco Chronicle. “It was like it didn’t even happen.”

Walker will take part in the following events for MADD:

• On Saturday, Walker will sign memorabilia, at cost, at Izzy’s Steaks and Chops, 525 Skyway Road, in San Carlos from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Those who make dinner reservations (650) 654-2822 for the Delanie Walker/MADD event will have a portion of their checks donated to MADD.
