Securing employment or housing is a significant part of the reentry process for any offender. Having a California photo identification card is critical for these steps and other services like voting, traveling and opening a bank account.
The Cal I.D. Card program is an essential program for offenders to participate in prior to release.
Eligible inmates at Reentry Hub institutions will see their Correctional Counselor to complete the California Identification Card packet, which, upon approval, will generate a DMV-issued identification card that is provided to them upon release.
