The Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO), Region I Delta District earlier this month held a Resource Fair at the Stockton Parole Office in collaboration with Behavioral Interventions Day Reporting Center and Butte County Education to assist parolees with education and employment opportunities.

Some of the community stakeholders that participated in the Resource Fair were representatives for apprenticeship programs, labor unions, driving schools, contracting companies, Lowe’s Home Improvement Store and San Joaquin County Work-Net.

Channel 2 News, Channel 10 News, KCRA 3 News, and the Stockton Record Newspaper covered the event.

More than 200 parolees had the opportunity to meet with 18 education and employment representatives.

Parolees were able to meet with employers, fill out applications, and set up interviews for the following week.  As a result of this event, there are nine confirmed job offers with additional offers pending.

Due to this event’s success, similar events are being planned for the future.
