The California Correctional Institution (CCI) supported the Sleep Train Shoe Drive for Foster Kids this year with a donation of 130 pairs of new shoes.

With a goal set of collecting 100 pairs of new shoes, Warden Kim Holland encouraged her staff’s participation stating, “For children who have lost their family and are separated from their siblings, these small donations can mean the world, helping to boost their self-esteem and allowing them to fit in with their peers. A new pair of shoes from you will place a priceless smile on the face of a child!”

Sleep Train’s Community Relations Program Manager, Meghan Renken, thanked Warden Holland for the donations saying, “We are so appreciative of your support.  There are over 60,000 foster children in California and your donation will help these foster kids walk with confidence.”

With the help of 34 non-profit foster care partners, the Sleep Train Foster Kids program takes in donations and disperses them to those children most in need throughout California.  Sleep Train believes not everyone can be a foster parent, but anyone can help a foster child!
