California State Prison, Corcoran, collaborated with local law enforcement personnel and Special Olympics athletes in the “Tip a Cop” event at Chili’s restaurant in Hanford for an evening of food, fun and awareness.
Law enforcement volunteer as wait staff, helping deliver food and refill drinks, all for “tips” for Special Olympics each year. CSP-Corcoran employees raised $1,400 in tips for the Special Olympics Northern California.
Special Olympics Northern California began in 1995. What started originally as a small grass-roots organization has since become a powerful voice for athletes with intellectual disabilities, encompassing Northern California from the Oregon border to Monterey and Tulare counties.
