CIM HONORS FALLEN OFFICERWarden (A) Tim Perez of the California Institution for Men (CIM) attended the San Bernardino County Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony on May 22 as a platform guest.

Officials from 15 law enforcement branches, including CDCR, participated in the ceremony.

Against the backdrop of a U.S. flag suspended from the two fire engines, family members of fallen officers were given yellow roses. Law enforcement leaders and Warden Perez read the names of each department’s fallen officers as honor guard members removed a glove and placed in onto the table in remembrance.

CIM remembers Jesus D. Sanchez, October 6, 1972; Ineasie M. Baker, August 9, 1996; Paul B. Beridon, September 11, 1997; Mylene Zalar, September 11, 1997; Leslie M. Macarro, May 20, 1988; and Manuel Gonzalez, January 10, 2005.

The passage of a riderless horse, a helicopter flyover, a bagpipe performance of “Amazing Grace” and the release of doves closed the ceremony.
