In recognition and appreciation of all employees and their diligent efforts throughout the year, the California Medical Facility held a Family Night on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Approximately 600 people attended the festivities.
They were able to check out the K-9 team, CMF Transportation vehicles with staff, CMF Fire Department, Department of State Hospitals displays on information which pertained to their programs, and the Crisis Response Team/Investigative Services Unit members had props and a display board.
In addition, tour guides were provided to escort guests in designated areas in the institution.
The education area was open with two classrooms and a presentation provided by the teaching staff.
The CMF Blind Project also provided a display of the equipment, tools and pictures regarding the success of the program within the country and a few countries abroad.
The Mental Health Treatment Center was open with clinical staff available to answer questions.
The bash also offered pizza, fruit, cookies and drinks.
Fifteen bikes were donated by the CMF Bike Program and used in fundraising efforts. This event was a huge success and was appreciated by all, according to organizers. Over $1,200 will be donated to the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation on behalf of CMF Family Night.
