Veterans facing challenges will have a slightly brighter day this November thanks to the efforts of employees at one California prison.

California State Prison, Sacramento (CSP-SAC), staff donated new and gently used baseball caps and new knit hats for the veterans of the Yountville Veterans Home and the veterans housed at the Pathway Home House.

The veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

This is annual collection is sponsored by the Iron Warriors Motorcycle Club (IWMC), the organization sponsoring the Veterans Home in Yountville.

This year the staff at CSP-SAC donated more than 1,400 hats to this worthy cause.

The hats will be delivered in November by the IWMC, where they will spend the day distributing the hats and visiting with the veterans. This is the fifth year the IWMC has sponsored this event and organizers said they were thrilled to have CSP-SAC participate.

If any other institutions are interested in joining the cause, contact Therese Giannelli at (916) 985-8610 ext. 6410.
