Centinela State Prison’s Substance Abuse Treatment (SAT) program held a quarterly provider fair in January, giving offenders a chance to learn more about post-release services.

Community Education Center (CEC) staff organized the event. Offenders assigned to the SAT program had the opportunity to gain a better understanding of all the after-care programs, services, and opportunities that are offered to them upon release from prison.

The presenters were from Male Community Reentry Program (Health Right 360), Division of Adult Parole Operations and Friends Outside. The inmates were informed of CDCR’s commitment to rehabilitation as well as the many services offered by the counties.

As Ralph Mendoza, MCRP representative, told the audience, “The ‘R’ is alive in CDCR.”

Many opportunities for change are available to those who are willing to make the effort.
