The CDCR Office of Employee Health (OEH) will conduct an educational presentation on the Zika Virus for CDCR staff on Friday, July 29 from 12-1 p.m. at CDCR Headquarters in the Kern/Colorado room. The presentation will also be viewable statewide as a streaming video on the CDCR intranet.
Health Educator, Lauren Salmo will make the presentation. Lauren is with the California Department of Health, Infectious Disease Branch.
Those attending in person should feel free to bring their own lunch.
OEH works to address communicable diseases in the workplace, develops and distributes educational material on prevention of disease and illness. OEH works collaboratively with California Correctional Health Care Services on occupational and public health issues that affect CDCR employees.
In an effort to inform employees about the most dominant health concerns of the day, OEH will begin hosting periodic informative health presentations, of which the Zika Virus presentation is the first in the series.
Employees have three ways to participate in the presentations:
- Attend in person
- Live streaming from the CDCR intranet
- Video of the presentations will be archived on the CDCR intranet
