There is still time to join thousands of other California state employees in giving back to our communities. The yearly charitable fund drive known as Our Promise: California State Employees Giving at Work gives every state worker the opportunity to donate to the nonprofit organization of their choice through payroll deduction. The last day to change or begin donations is Friday.
Whether your passion is helping at-risk youth, providing resources for veterans, or giving shelter animals a second chance at life, Our Promise can help you support your cause. Donations start for as little as $5 a month. A small contribution of $5 a month can provide 40 meals for individuals from a local food bank, or enough Vitamin A capsules to save 60 African children from preventable blindness and malnutrition. A gift of $20 a month can provide three nights of shelter for a family of four, or hearing and vision screening for up to 20 children.
CDCR’s 2016 campaign goal is $550,000.
For a list of charitable organizations visit https://www.ourpromiseca.org/find-nonprofit, or if using the CDCR intranet visit, https://intranet/ADM/DSS/hr/oew/CSECC/Pages/CSECC.aspx. Employees may also donate to any nonprofit not listed in the donor resource guide by utilizing the Write-In Organization section of the pledge form.
Every CDCR employee should have received a payroll deduction pledge form. If you have not received a pledge form, you may print one at https://intranet/ADM/DSS/hr/oew/CSECC/Documents/2016_Main_Page/2016-PLEDGE-FORM-fillable.pdf. Turn in your pledge form to your campaign coordinator by Friday, Oct. 21.
