He didn’t get his motor running, but Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) Phillip Mallory did get out on the highway to help sick children.
The Central California Women’s Facility CNE partnered with custody and medical staff to raise $8,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
CNE Mallory linked the fundraising event to the annual California Classic century bike ride in Fresno.
CNE Mallory trained and fundraised for four months, ultimately completing the April 1 ride in 5 hours and 25 minutes.
The opportunity to work collaboratively with all disciplines and bring the CCWF team together to help fight pediatric cancer was a blessing for everyone involved, according to team organizers.
“I was truly blessed to be the genesis and facilitator for this mission and spirit of giving,” said Mallory. “I am excited for next year, and I am already planning how I can involve more stakeholders throughout the CCHCS enterprise.”
