This year marks the “Our Promise: California State Employees Giving at Work” Charitable Campaign’s 60th anniversary. There is an Our Promise Statewide Kick-Off Event at the State Capitol on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the North Steps.
There will be music, presentations from elected officials, opportunities to win prizes, and representatives from more than 100 non-profit organizations attending. The Our Promise organization invites state employees to visit, participate, interact and collect information from these non-profit organizations at the festivities.
The Our Promise charitable giving campaign helps thousands of non-profit organizations raise funds for causes and communities that your fellow co-workers care about. The campaign provides an easy method for state employees to contribute through a one-time or regular minimal monthly payroll deduction to non-profit charities of their choice.
Following the statewide kick-off event, departments will begin activities for this year’s campaign within CDCR.
CDCR’s Our Promise department-wide charitable campaign runs Sept. 12 through Oct. 12. Our department’s campaign goals are to increase CDCR’s total donations to over $630,000 and to increase our overall employee participation in providing donations. Last year, CDCR employees raised just under $570,000 during the campaign.
The CDCR Office of Legal Affairs is chairing CDCR’s campaign this year. The Campaign Chair is Corinne Isberner (Corinne.Isberner@cdcr.ca.gov). The Vice Chair is Jasmin Williams (Jasmin.Williams@cdcr.ca.gov). Expect more to come in the weeks ahead about our department events and activities.
