Courtland Ellis, Emergency Services Coordinator with the Office of Correctional Safety’s Emergency Planning and Management Unit, recently graduated from FEMA’s National Emergency Management Basic Academy in Maryland.

Ellis completed five courses: Foundations of Emergency Management; Science of Disaster; Planning: Emergency Operations; Exercise Design; and Public Information and Warning.

This is the first of a three-level academy series in the Emergency Management Professional Program (EMPP).

Ellis completed his training on Sept. 28.
