Creekside Adult School at Mule Creek State Prison held graduation ceremonies in October for 174 offenders who earned their college degrees, high school diplomas, GEDs or completed career technical education (CTE) programs or re-entry programs.

The school, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, provides academic and CTE programs as well as college courses in multiple formats: correspondence, a hybrid model where the Professor teaches on a biweekly schedule, and face-to-face instruction. Folsom Lake College provides some of the certifications through the face-to face program.

The Department of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP) provides re-entry services to inmates to support their return to their communities post-release. They include Anger Management, Criminal Thinking, Family Relations and Substance Use Disorder Treatment.

Shannon Swain, Superintendent of the Office of Correctional Education, attended the graduation ceremonies, as well as representatives from DRP and prison staff.
